Volunteer and board roles
The Ontario chapter board is volunteer-led and operates as a section of the national organization. These positions are open now — apply through the contact form or by email.
General board member (1–2 openings)
CIFST Ontario is seeking committed volunteers to join its Board of Directors and help advance food science across the province.
We welcome applicants who can:
- Open funding opportunities through professional networks
- Activate strategic partnerships aligned with our mission
- Advise on growth strategy and long-term sustainability
- Bring food science, food industry, or related experience
- Attend board meetings and take part in committee work
Minimum 2 hours per month, more in peak season · 2-year term (renewable) · Applicants must be or become CIFST members.

Treasurer
The Treasurer leads CIFST Ontario's financial stewardship, working closely with the board and external accountants.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee financial processes, budgeting, and reporting (including HST)
- Ensure transparency and compliance with CIFST National guidelines
- Act as a signing officer for financial transactions
- Support annual audit preparation and year-end reporting
- Monitor financial risk and recommend improvements

Tabletop event committee
Help plan and deliver the Suppliers' Night Tabletop Show on November 10, 2026 — one of the chapter's flagship events.
Key activities:
- Participate in bi-weekly committee meetings
- Exhibitor outreach and coordination
- Sponsorship recruitment, marketing, and promotion
- Venue logistics and floor planning
- Registration and attendee experience
- Day-of-event operations support
